third_party/sandboxroot: add mirror tool This mirrors the sandbox RPMs into a GCS bucket any time we regenerate it. Hopefully this stops the constant barrage of random 404s when Fedora just happened to bump a library and all the mirrors lost its previous version. This tool is currently specific to our bazeldnf-based sandboxroot setup, but could be extended to mirror all of our dependencies at some point. As our mirror is the last in the list, it should only be used when a file is missing from other mirrors. In the future, we should have some job that alerts us when too many of our deps are missing from upstream mirrors. Our build environment is self-contained and requires only minimal host dependencies:
/dev/kvm (if you want to run tests).Our docs assume that Bazelisk is available as bazel on your PATH.
Refer to SETUP.md for detailed instructions.
Build CLI and node image:
bazel build //metropolis/cli/dbg //:launch -c dbg
Launch an ephemeral test node:
bazel test //:launch -c dbg --test_output=streamed
Run a kubectl command while the test is running:
bazel-bin/metropolis/cli/dbg/dbg_/dbg kubectl describe node
Run full test suite:
bazel test -c dbg //...
